The scrapbook consists primarily of newsclippings describing the special opening excursion for the Northern Pacific Railroad Company, 1883, the ceremony itself, a brief history about the company, and information about Henry Villard. Also included are obituary clippings about Earhart, 1892, the Knights Templar Conclaves in San Francisco, 1882 and 1883, and the Garfield Monument in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.
